Whether you’re taking a broad U-turn with your overall aims or just trying to utilize as much of what you and your team have created, here are three ideas to help you utilize those extra multimedia assets.
1. Let Others Use Them—and Rack up Some Some Online Karma
Not every photo from a shoot is going to make the final cut. But you can still rack up virtual “points” by posting them for free use (or whatever is most applicable or relevant for you) on a site like Unsplash or Pixabay.
You can do the same with unused jingles, sound effects and vector graphics. One word of caution—ensure your profile is complete in case you wind up catching some clicks.
2. Repurpose Them in an Unexpected Way
A limited-time behind-the-scenes carousel embedded on your company website, an imaginative take on a viral trend, sharing it in an internal document to emphasize certain takeaways, an employee dishing on the story of the creation process “warts and all” on LinkedIn—the sky’s the limit.
3. Sort, Shuffle and Save Them
Even if you aren’t able to think of a way to upcycle them right now, it’s well worth it to assess, organize and make clear notes of what you have to work with down the line. Doing so will keep you from forgetting these exist altogether.
